The self-assessment is not to be used or interpreted as a professional diagnostic tool.
I am not a counselor or a pastor. I am a Christian writer who desires to fulfill her calling in Christ, who constantly restructures her life so that it falls in line with a life that exalts Jesus. And it has taken me fifteen years in Christ to get to ground zero. But I am here, and I want to connect with a community of believers who desire to fulfill their calling in Christ.
The self-assessment is based on my own personal experiences and struggles, before and after I gave my life to God. It is a tool I created to help you focus on your life as you connect with Jesusqueens. You may need to change around your results to suit your needs. For example, there may be a domain where you scored low, but you know it is particularly troublesome for you. So, focus on that domain as you read through Jesusqueens.
If you are like me and have a lot of domains you want to focus on, then you may want to start with the one that is the most pervasive for you. For example, you know your financial problems are causing problems in your marriage, with what you think and feel about yourself, and are keeping you away from the things you love most, like your family, healthy social and recreational activities, and your local community and church. So, financial would be your starting point.
If your primary issue is something that you cannot control, like a chronic illness, or it is something where you know you have done all that you can, like praying for or helping a loved one who is unsaved, involved in criminal activity, or who is struggling with an addiction, then you would want to focus on your spiritual walk with Jesus: keeping the faith, holding fast, pressing forward, and persisting with joy in the face of all evidence to the contrary.
If you think or feel like you need immediate or professional attention, do not be ashamed. Seek that help by calling 911, your local church or community counseling center, doctor or hospital. There are too many resources for you to suffer in silence. There is help available. Take advantage of it. Use it.
And remember, you are here. Whether out of curiosity or genuine concern for your walk with Jesus, you are exploring what Jesusqueens has to offer, which is the love of Jesus for African American women. And He loves you regardless. He came for you, just like He came for everyone else in the world. So relax. Take comfort. Be in it for the long haul. Commit for life.
